Essex St George's Day

Family Festival 2013

Default Frame

Our Family Festival Day is a celebration of all things about our rich heritage in England, based in the amazing historical setting of the Wat Tyler Country Park. Visitors arrive on the village green to our main promenade of red and white striped market stalls selling local handmade wares.

Progressing up the main promenade the village square comes into sight with the St George’s Flag flying high over the proceedings of the day. The crowds

can gather to watch the village square entertainment such as Marching and Brass Bands, Morris and Country Dancers.

Keep your eyes open for King Henry VIII and his wives as well as Doctor Who, Harry Potter or even Winston Churchill who will be wandering about throughout the crowds, posing for photos.

The day will be filled with frivolity, fresh local produce from local farmers, craft stalls as well as our youth back to basics activity camp where uniformed youth groups will be demonstrating skills and crafts for the public to watch and take part in.

The real ale and cider festival based in the oak beamed barn will be a picturesque setting to enjoy a cold drink whilst watching the entertainment, trying your hand at one of the games or admiring the selection of entertainment throughout the day.

This event will definitely top the list of the largest, most enjoyable free family events to celebrate our Patron Saint in our county of Essex.

We sincerely hope you can join us!
